Man arrested in SWAT stolen weapons case

Posted: Updated:

A man has been arrested after police found a stolen SWAT gun at his house.

Police say back in February someone broke into a SWAT officer's vehicle and stole five guns and police equipment including a gas mask and ballistic vest.

About a month later, APD went to a shots fired call and discovered one of the stolen guns.

The suspect in that case said he got the weapon from 26-year-old Matthew Lee Allred.

Police got a search warrant for Allred's home and found another weapon stolen from the SWAT officer's vehicle.

Allred is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, a third degree felony.
