For women suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome, it can be hard to get pregnant. The common disorder impacts fertility, but what you eat could actually play a role in correcting it. Many women who suffer from PCOS are insulin resistant, meaning their bodies produce too much insulin. Eventually it goes to the ovaries and decreases fertility. But, there is a natural way for these women to improve their fertility. Researchers from the University of Tel Aviv found that women who ate more calories at breakfast and less at dinner increased their fertility. The study followed 60 women with PCOS who were randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group ate 980 calories at breakfast and 190 calories at dinner. The other group did just the opposite: 190 at breakfast and 980 at dinner. After 90 days, the women who ate the bigger breakfast had a 50 percent increase in ovulation rates. So how much food is a 980 calorie breakfast?A meal could be two eggs, two pieces of bacon, a bagel with cream cheese, a cup of coffee, glass of orange juice and a bowl of cereal with one percent milk. As for a 190 calorie dinner, you could only eat a meal like four ounces of grilled chicken breast and a small side salad with fat free dressing.
