Man with Central Texas ties added to Most Wanted Sex Offenders list
A man who has ties to Central Texas has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.
Doug Otis Sims, 32, a Nacogdoches native, is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration and burglary of habitation. Authorities say Sims has a violent criminal past, which includes sexual assault of a child, assault, evading arrest and DWI. In 2003, Sims was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl nine times over several months.
He has relatives and friends living in Center, Athens and Burnet, Texas. He has been known to work in the oil drilling industry.
Sims is 5'11" and weighs 190 lbs. He has cut scars on his chest and back and multiple tattoos, including "Andrew Samuel" on his lower left leg and tribal art on his right hand, left arm and left leg.
Sims is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with any information on Sims' whereabouts is asked to call Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-8477 (TIPS). DPS is offering up to $3,000 for information leading to Sims' arrest.
