A 22-year-old father is accused of child abuse and murder after his 2-month-old baby died from shaken baby syndrome on Monday.

Hospital staff called Tucson Police on August 12 when an unresponsive baby was brought in with life-threatening injuries that they believed were caused on purpose.

Authorities say Fayde Riggin had recently moved back into a home near 22nd Street and Kolb Road with his 2-month-old son, Mavrik Riggin, and the baby's mother.

Riggin allegedly became frustrated with the baby and shook him multiple times over one month.

The baby had internal injuries from being shaken and died a week later.

Riggin was booked into Pima County Jail and faces charges of child abuse and 1st degree murder.
