Nassau County police say that it happened about 9:30 p.m. in New Cassel.

The 35-year-old man was riding his mountain bike on Hopper Street when he was approached by five to seven men.

Police say they grabbed the victim off of his bicycle and attacked. They say the man was punched and kicked in the face and arms.

One of the attackers took the bike and the others ran away.
