A father of three was hit by a car and killed. It happened sometime overnight in Travis County and investigators need help to finding the driver that is responsible.
The victim was hit on Coulver Road, about two miles of south off Highway 183.
DPS troopers told FOX 7 the victim was walking along this road sometime overnight when he was hit by a vehicle.
The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Ricardo Gonzales. He leaves behind two daughters and one son. Family members tell FOX 7 Gonzales lived not far from where he was hit and had been drinking with friends and was most likely walking home because he did not own a car.
Police believe Gonzales was killed by the hit and run driver either late last night or early this morning.
A call came in to 911 at about 11:15 a.m. that a deceased man was laying on the side of the road.
DPS says Gonzales' clothing may have made him hard to see. He was wearing a tan shirt and black jeans. Right now they have few leads and Gonzales' family is hoping someone comes forward.
"At this time we do not have any witnesses or anyone that has any information regarding this crash," DPS Trooper Ricardo Lomas said.
"We just want closure. Just want to know if anyone knows anything or saw anything. If they could let the family know," said Brenda Mirelez, the victim's niece.
Anyone with any information about this accident is asked to contact police at 512-424-7391.
