Three women were arrested after two separate attempts were made to smuggle more than $130,000 worth of heroin and meth on Tuesday, according to Customs and Border Protection Officers. Two female Mexican nationals with young children were arrested at the Port of Nogales when they allegedly tried to enter the US in a Jeep containing almost seven pounds of heroin, worth about $94,000. Then, just before midnight, a 48-year-old Tucson woman was arrested at DeConcini's pedestrian crossing after she was wanted for additional questioning. During their search, CBP says they found three packages of meth weighing more than two pounds, worth more than $36,000. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations took custody of the three women.
