NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

There are many new rides at this celebrated Seaside Heights boardwalk including one new attraction that promises to receive a lot of attention.

The JetStar Roller Coaster from the Casino Pier in Seaside Heights got swept into the Atlantic Ocean after Hurricane Sandy, but nearly a year after the storm, the pier that was devastated is open again.

The reopening is a welcome sight for the popular Jersey Shore community but even though the iconic roller coaster may not be back, the boardwalk is once again the place to be.

Nine months after Hurricane Sandy and the Casino Pier in Seaside Heights is open. This was an iconic site after Sandy.

The JetStar Roller Coaster was sucked into the ocean it has since been removed, fittingly replaced by a ride called “The Super Storm.” Business owners in the community are hoping for a strong finish to this very difficult summer.

The rides are rolling, the food is sizzling and the people are returning.

Piece by piece, Casino Pier Manager, Lou Cirigliano, says it's come together just in time for the last month of the summer season.

Next door on the newly rebuilt boardwalk of Seaside Heights, W JIMBO'S Bar and Grill Manager, Kim Manara hopes the pier's return with be another key piece in the financial recovery for all the businesses here.

There is still a lot to complete. Casino Pier for example still has about 300 feet of boardwalk to repair. By the way, organizers say they kept pieces of that coaster.

They plan to use those pieces to build a memorial.
