Philly Newspaper Delivery Problems

Posted: Updated:

Missing your morning paper?

The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News are encountering home and newsstand delivery problems this weekend throughout the area, due to a computer outage.

The following statement was just sent to Fox29 News and MyFoxPhilly.Com:

"We regret to inform our Inquirer and Daily News Weekend readers that due to an electrical surge, causing outages in all of our computer systems that impacted our printing plant late Friday evening and early this morning, a minimum four hour delay is anticipated for single copy delivery of the  Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News Weekend to newsstands in the Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties) and in southern New Jersey (Burlington, Gloucester and Camden counties).
We expect to deliver as many Saturday papers today as possible. However,
home delivery of The Inquirer and Daily News will be extremely limited to these counties and will resume on Sunday morning, August 4, when readers, in some cases, can receive their missed Saturday edition with their Sunday edition.

There will be a combined Saturday Inquirer and Sunday Inquirer Bulldog Edition available at newsstands on Saturday, August 3. There will be no single copy delivery of The Inquirer and Daily News Weekend to the New Jersey shore and extended counties outside of the immediate Philadelphia region.

For the latest news and information, please visit Philly.com, Inquirer.com and PhillyDailyNews.com. For your convenience, complimentary access is available to Inquirer.com and PhillyDailyNews.com. No access codes will be required for you to access these two sites at this time.

Replica editions of The Inquirer and Daily News will not be accessible on Saturday, August 3.

Please call us today at 800/222-2765 if you have any further questions, or if we can provide you additional assistance."
