The Talker: Do you have app fatigue?

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

If you're counting calories, there's an app for that. If you're wondering whether it's going to rain, there's a FOX weather app for that. If you need restaurant reservations, a doctor appointment, or movie tickets , there are dozens of apps for that.

There seems to be an app for everything, including the non-legendary "Angry Birds" app.

Apple says it has 900,000 iPhone apps in its iTunes store, and 375,000 for iPads. Google Play says it's got more than a million apps for Droid phones.

So, have we reached the point of quantity over quality? Are we "apped-out?"

The hardcore app junkies weave numerous apps together to make it through their "iLife." For example, "the breakup text" will text your soon-to-be ex that it's over – and will only cost you 99 cents. It promises "no more awkward conversations" and you can "end your relationship with just a few taps."

Let's say someone used this one on you. You can use the "breakup app" to ease the pain with advice, stories, and breakup music.

And finally, when you're ready to rebound, there's the "break up notifier" app. It trolls through Facebook statuses and lets you know if someone you've got your eye on suddenly changes from "involved" or maybe even "it's complicated" to "single."

Then, there's the leftover app. Download the app and if you're hungry, it will show you other users who have a couple extra slices of pizza or an eggroll to offer. The designer says "leftover swap" will reduce waste and help people get to know each other.
