Homeless Man Charged In Spring Garden St. Stabbing

PHILADELPHIA -

A 26-year-old female was stabbed in the Powelton Village neighborhood of Philadelphia.

According to police, witnesses saw a man, later identified as 46-year-old Gary Johnson, pushing and making jabbing motions into the victim's body before fleeing on foot. When police got to her, she was bleeding all over from gashes on her chest, abdomen, knee and wrist.

After following witness descriptions, police found Gary, who's hand was bleeding. He was arrested and is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

The victim is at HUP and is in serious but stable condition.
