Police release video showing moments before Salinas' disappearance

Posted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. -

Her disappearance has left police and her family baffled. Adrienne Salinas vanished more than a month ago and we still don't know where she could be.

She was on her way to meet her boyfriend in Tempe, but she never made it, and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Tempe Police are still actively looking for any clue that will help solve this mystery. That's why they've released a surveillance video they hope will spark new leads.

The video is from the AMPM near Hardy Drive and University in Tempe. It shows the moments from when Salinas called a cab to meet her at the store and when her cell phone went off. The 19-year-old vanished without a trace before making it to the AMPM.

Police believe the people here coming in and out may have seen her or something suspicious that night.

"If you look at that entire video and you see somebody you may know... we just want to know if you saw anything that night," says Tempe Police Sgt. Mike Pooley.

Police officials say Salinas called a cab driver after she crashed her car in the early morning hours.

Thomas Simon's son Tom was the driver sent to pick her up.

"He sees Adrienne's face and the picture and everything he hears about her, a really vibrant person with all of her life in front of her. He feels, man could I have done something to help her?" says Thomas Simon.

In the video you see a black cab Tom was driving. He waits, no Salinas. Calls her a few times, but at 5:07 her cell phone is turned off.

"Sometime between the moment she said 'I'm not there yet but I'll be there in a minute' and six to eight minutes later she disappeared. Somebody had to have seen something."

Simon hopes this video clears his son's name -- showing that Salinas never showed up for her cab ride. But he hopes more than anything this video leads to answers.

"It's time now, I hope and my son hopes, that people will focus on those last few minutes, think about what they may have seen and call the police. That's how you solve things like this, by community, being good and stepping forward, and I just hope somebody does that."

If you recognize someone in the surveillance video you are urged to call Tempe Police right away. The police just want to know if those people saw anything strange the night of Salinas' disappearance.
