The UT Football optimist would say the horns have improved each of the past two seasons and they are headed back to national prominence. The Longhorn pessimist will point to a meager 11-15 conference record over the past three years. At Media Day, the Horns were picked 4th in the conference.
As the Horns are getting better, their body of work the past three seasons paints the picture of a 22-16 Team; just four games under 500 in the Big 12 play and just 3-11 against teams ranked in both major polls. Two of those top 25 wins came late last year, including the Alamo Bowl win over Oregon State.
