NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Superstorm Sandy babies are popping up all over the New Jersey Shore nine months after the storm.

Dr. Robert Graebe at the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch says that the neonatal unit has seen around a 30 percent jump in the number of births this July compared to one year ago.

Fox 5 spoke to Nick and Alissa Berse, who said that just before the storm hut they left their apartment the shore and headed inland to a hotel. They say they were watching a movie when the power went out, and one thing led to another.

Less than nine months later, on July 10, baby Madison was born. She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces.

Christopher and Robin McCann are also counting their blessings. They are the proud parents of Sage Lawrence McCann born earlier this month.

Monmouth Medical Center Psychiatrist Christine Tintorer said that some fears -- like a major storm or a scary movie -- or straight up boredom with no other outlet can lead to sex.
