4 Police Officers Involved In Overnight Shooting

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Four police officers were involved in a shooting early Monday morning in North Philadelphia.

Officers in an unmarked car just happened to come upon a shooting scene at 1:30 a.m. where two men were firing at a third near the intersection of Bucknell and Berks streets.

We're told that when police got involved, the guns were turned toward them.

Soon, the suspects took off. They made it to the 2500 block of Page Street, where one was caught. The other was taken to the hospital.

The third man, at whom the men were firing at, is missing right now.

Thankfully, those four police officers were not injured in this shooting, FOX 29's Stephanie Esposito reported live from the scene.

Police did recover two weapons lying in the middle of the street, and one appeared to be a semiautomatic folding stock rifle.

The second suspect who was injured was treated and released from Hahnemann University Hospital and is also now in police custody.

The unmarked police car remained in the middle of the road later on Monday morning as crime scene investigators were beginning to remove dozens of evidence markers.
