Austin police have arrested two men who spray their victims with pepper spray or bug spray before stealing their money.
Police dubbed 21-year-old Kendrick Clark and 22-year-old Marcus Mitchell as the ‘pepper spray bandits'. Officers say they stuck several businesses over the past two months including Subway, Discoteca, Dollar General, and Arlan's Market.
At each incident, Clark and Mitchell would enter the business, bring items to the counter and when the store clerk would open the register they would spray them with pepper or bug spray. Clark and Mitchell would then grab the cash from the register and flee the scene.
The case is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the APD Robbery tip line at 512-974-5092.
