SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Scottsdale plastic surgeon Paul Holden is facing felony charges for breaking into a pharmacy locker at a doctor's office next to his and according to court documents -- stealing vials of medical cocaine.

Holden was arrested by Scottsdale police last Thursday.  They say in the middle of the night, he was caught on video breaking into the North Valley Surgical Center's Pharmacy.

A cleaning woman was startled to see him in the pharmacy alone for about two minutes, but Holden reassured her nothing abnormal was going on.

An inventory later that morning showed five four millimeter bottles of medicinal cocaine was missing from the pharmacy cabinet where the cocaine was stored -- and the lock on the cabinet had been forced open.

Once Holden realized he had been spotted, he called the director of nursing and apologized numerous times.

Police arrested Holden on one count of 3rd degree burglary.  At this point, they have not recovered the missing cocaine, but Holden could be facing more charges if the drugs are found.

According to Dr. Holden's web site -- he is double board certified in head and neck surgery -- and specially trained facial cosmetic surgery.

The medical board is aware of the incident, but there has not been a complaint issued yet, so they have not started a formal investigation.

This is not Holden's first run in with the law.  In May 2012, he was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife -- according to Scottsdale police and briefly barricaded himself in his surgical office with a loaded handgun -- leading to a standoff. He was later arrested.
