Austin police have released video of a man suspected in the city's latest homicide. 36-year-old David Villarreal was found dead in his home at the 360 Condos in downtown Austin on July 15, 2013.
Austin police say the victim, 36-year-old David Villarreal and the suspect were last seen at Oilcan Harry's before his body was found Monday night.
Police found Villarreal's body in his own condo Monday night after they were summoned by concerned friends.
They released surveillance footage from the 360 Condos just a few blocks away from Oilcan Harry's.
Villarreal can be seen in front, entering the 360 condominiums early Saturday morning. A man in a white shirt seen walking behind Villarreal is who police want to talk to. They say the two were seen leaving Oilcan Harry's together, an hour later, officers believe Villarreal was dead.
In addition to the video, police say they have video of the unidentified white male leaving the condos by himself.
Villarreal's friends called 9-1-1 Monday night after they hadn't seen or heard from him in a while.
"I originally placed the call about being concerned about his welfare. It was out of character for him not to respond immediately and we just knew something was wrong," Michael Hamilton, the victim's former partner said. "I would like to reach out to our 4th Street community here in Austin and see if you recognize this guy."
At this time, police are only saying there were signs of obvious trauma.
