Austin boxer Brian Vera continues to prepare for a September 7 fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Junior, which will air on HBO.
"Aw this is big man! I'm 31 now so I've been a professional for eight years and this has all been working up to get to this point, and finally I'm here," Vera said.
The Westwood High alum is the reigning WBO NABO middleweight champ, but this fight against the 46-1 Chavez is by far Vera's biggest.
"He [Chavez] is big, he's strong, you know, I'm more athletic than him. I can throw jabs and do things that he don't think I can do so we're gonna try to capitalize on all that," Vera said. "I'm gonna be in the best shape I've ever been in my life and I'm gonna shock everybody!"
A win would be huge for Vera. Vera says he'd go from six figure fights to fighting for millions.
The fight scheduled for September 7 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
