Abbott gubernatorial campaign visiting 10 cities

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Attorney General Greg Abbott is kicking off his gubernatorial campaign with a 10-city tour that will take him to many of the places he's lived around Texas.

The Republican began his bid to succeed Gov. Rick Perry on Sunday in San Antonio, where he was married in 1982.

On Monday, he visits Houston - where a falling tree injured him and confined to a wheel chair in 1984. He then heads to the border city of McAllen.

On Tuesday, Abbott goes to Longview, the East Texas city where he grew up. He also visits the Dallas suburb of Duncanville, where he graduated from high school, and his birth city, Wichita Falls.

Wednesday takes him to Lubbock and Midland. The next day he hits El Paso before concluding in Austin.
