Austin hate crime suspect held on $1M bond

A man was ordered held on $1 million bond Wednesday for allegedly beating and robbing two women while yelling slurs at them in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Terry Glover, 24, and other unknown accomplices allegedly beat and robbed the women while yelling derogatory terms at them regarding their sexual orientation, police News Affairs said in a release.

He allegedly attacked the women, ages 23 and 25, on Sunday in the 0 to 100 block of North LeClaire Avenue, the release said.

Glover, of the 0 to 100 block of North Parkside Avenue, is charged with two felony counts each of robbery and committing a hate crime, the release said.

He was ordered held on $1 million bond, and will next appear in court Monday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.

No one else is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
