Welcome to Bikinis, TX, a two acre plot of land formerly known as Banker Smith, between Fredericksburg and Luckenbach, Texas.
Doug Guller, the Founder and CEO of Austin based Bikinis Bar and Grill, bought the little Texas town a year ago.
"This was actually in middle of the grassy field. We had a lot of things growing under and in it...we're going to make that into a whiskey shot bus," said Doug.
He has between six months to a year to turn the 1955 Skycruiser into a shot bar, everything else you see needs to be ready in four days...for the town's grand opening.
"These will be washer pits. We've got some work to do on those," said Guller. "This was just an old storage locker."
Now it's an outdoor bar.
Texas country and bluegrass bands are set to play on the outdoor stage and inside what's been dubbed, "Guller Hall."
Guller said, "This was not here. We got all this wood from an old church...we went to town in the last three weeks and built this, six thousand square feet."
This building used to be post office and general store for Banker Smith, TX.
"We thought let's expand the deck and the awning was short and it just kind of slanted fast so you would hit your head, or I would hit my head," Guller said. "This is going to be merchandise and our Bikini's hall of fame."
If you're imagining this place will be a town full of babes in Bikinis 24-7...think again.
Guller said, "We think it's just going to be a really special place that people can rent out...and just see something different that they'd normally wouldn't see in the hill country."
Doug says there's not enough room for a full restaurant...but he does hope to bring food trailers to Bikinis soon.
I said, "Am I allowed to ask you how much it is to rent out the facility?"
Doug answered, "Sure, I just won't tell you."
I prodded, "In case inquiring minds want to know?"
Doug countered, "I would say email our events people and they'll get back to you a.s.a.p."
The official grand opening for the town of Bikinis, Texas is this Saturday, featuring music from headliner Jerry Jeff Walker and Carmen Electra.
