Austin Police searching for downtown robbery suspects

Posted: Updated:

The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's help locating men who have robbing people downtown as they walk to their cars.

Investigators believe between one and three men are responsible for attacking victims after bars close. Police say the suspect or suspects rob the victims at gunpoint and take personal items.

Police say all three potential suspects are black men in their 20's or 30's. One suspect was captured on surveillance video and is described as being between 6' to 6'4" tall and weighing 180-190 pounds. He has a gold right front tooth and long dreadlocks. Investigators believe he drives a late 2000's 4-door midsized or compact car.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Detective Carlos Vallejo at 512-974-6657 or the Robbery Unit at 512-974-5270.
