Residents discovered the remains of 13 dogs, a goat and a duck under an overpass on Watterson Road. It appears the animals were killed and then dumped in that location.
On Sunday, residents collected the remains and relocated them to a ranch near Bastrop. The group of Bastrop County residents held a short memorial service for the animals.
Residents tell us they have reason to suspect a teen is behind the death of at least one of the animals, but say the sheriff's office will not help them to investigate the situation.
"Just the hardness of somebody's heart in order to do things like that. I can't comprehend it myself. We're compassionate animal people so it's really hard for us to understand that kind of mindset," said Ellie Farmer.
"The people who do this inevitably unless they get counseling really quick will start killing people," said Sharri Wash.
No arrests have been made. Fox 7 contacted the Bastrop County Sheriff's office and we were told they were not aware of the situation.
