A woman has been charged after police say she became upset with several dog owners and threw a rock and dog feces at one of them because she believed they were not picking up after their pets.
On June 18, Austin police officers responded to a disturbance at the dog park next to the Canyon Creek Apartments on Jollyville Road.
Police say 46-year-old Rebecca Trammell confronted a man about not picking up after his dog. Trammell told police that she has observed a lot of dog feces in front of her apartment from owners not cleaning up after their pets and she was certain that the feces was from the victim's dog.
The victim told police he was going to get a doggie bag to pick the feces up when Trammell began yelling at him and then threw feces at him.
Police say Trammell also picked up a large rock, about 6-inches with jagged edges and threw it at the victim, nearly missing him. She then approached him and spit in his face.
Trammell approached another dog owner, who was with his dog that was off its leash. Police say Trammell tried to grab the dog but the owner got in the way. She grabbed the leash in the owner's hand instead and pulled on it, cutting the victim's hand.
Trammell has been charged with aggravated assault, a second degree felony.
