A man in his mid-20s was mysteriously found dead Sunday morning at an apartment complex in Southeast Austin.
Austin police got the call around 11:30 in the morning.
Apparently a man in his 30s who lives here at the Hillside Villa Apartments met a guy in his 20s Downtown Saturday night and brought him back to his apartment.
Police say the guy who lives in the apartments woke up to find the friend he brought home with him dead in the morning. So he ran to a neighbor's house and called the police from there.
Officer Traver Stefan with the Austin Police Department says both men were Hispanic males and they're not releasing their identities at this time.
Due to the age and health of the victim police are referring to the death as 'suspicious.'
"At this point it's primarily gonna focus on what the cause of death was and they'll go forward from that. If it ends up being something natural causes or the subject did something to themselves as far as an overdose or potential suicide or something like that the detectives will look into that. If it does end up being a homicide of course they'll investigate that," said Stefan.
Austin police wouldn't say whether the man who lives in the apartment is a suspect.
Stefan says there didn't seem to be any sign of struggle in the apartment. So he says it's up to the medical examiner to decide if this was foul play.
