SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

A Taylor, Mich. man found a unique and funny way to propose to his girlfriend, and it's all posted online.

Richie Reames says he rented out a theatre at the Emagine Woodhaven Monday night and packed it with 60 of he and his girlfriend Joanne's closest family and friends.

Joanne's mother and sister told the bride-to-be they were going to see 'The Great Gatsby' in 3D.

But unbeknownst to her, when the theatre went dark, a special video created by Richie played in between trailers. The video featured the couple's parents and friends (click the video player above to watch it in full).

When it was over, Richie, who Joanne thought was 'golfing,' appeared in the theatre to pop the question. Of course, she said yes and her reaction was posted on YouTube for all to see.

The couple plans on having their wedding in September of next year.
