Two Horns, Other Locals Taken On MLB Draft's Final Day

Texas juniors Erich Weiss and Mark Payton had their names called on the final day of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. John Hygh has the details on them and other area players who were selected Saturday.

UPDATE--The rundown of other local and notable draftees taken in the draft's final rounds:

Kacy Clemens (Right-handed Pitcher, Memorial HS, Houston), 35th Rd. Houston Astros. Clemens is a UT commit and the son of former Texas and major league standout Roger Clemens.

Lukas Schiraldi (Right-handed Pitcher, Navarro Coll.), 35th Rd. Washington Nationals. Schiraldi, a St. Michael's alum, is a UT commit and the son of former Texas standout and major leaguer Calvin Schiraldi.

Taylor Johnson (2nd Baseman, St. Edward's), 40th Rd. Detroit Tigers. Johnson is a Dripping Springs High School alum.
