Authorities have arrested a Burnet Middle School student in connection with the "acid bomb" threat at the school last Friday.
According to an official with the Austin Independent School District, district police will charge the boy with Deadly Conduct, and AFD Arson Investigators will charge him with Places Weapons Prohibited. The two sides will meet again to determine whether the boy will face any additional charges.
On May 31, AFD Haz-Mat responded to Burnet Middle School after what authorities referred to as an acid bomb was found in a boys' restroom. The device leaked a chemical substance that left three adults and four children with injuries.
The suspect is currently being held at the juvenile detention center.
