Lightning strike spooks ABIA employee

Posted: Updated:

EMS responded to a call at ABIA after an employee at General Aviation was reportedly struck by lightning.

ABIA officials say lightening did strike close to the employee but it did not hit anything or anyone.

The employee was shaken up by how close it struck and was transported to the hospital shortly after to get checked out.

As for the rain, flooding was definitely an issue this afternoon.

We caught several cars stalled in the road right after passing through an uncomfortable amount of water.

The Austin Fire Department was reminding drivers to "Turn Around, Don't Drown."
