Glendora, CA -

(FOX 11 / AP) Police and sheriff's detectives are searching at a home in a Los Angeles suburb in the case of a woman who disappeared in 1978.

A Los Angeles County sheriff's statement says its homicide detectives are helping police in Glendora seek clues in the disappearance of Wendy Byron, who went missing 35 years ago at age 24.

News media reports that detectives were digging in the backyard of the home where, and that Byron once lived there.

Byron's husband Rob Byron, who now lives in a different home nearby, tells media outlets he hadn't been told about the search at his former home and didn't know why authorities were looking there.

The sheriff's statement said detectives plan to return to on Thursday morning with a special operations team from the coroner's office.
