More Women Changing Last Names After Marriage

Posted: Updated:

Brides are eager to take the last name of their husband after they tie the knot.

Recent studies show that only 18% of women are interested in keeping their maiden names- which is down from a record high around 23% in the 1990's. This new generation of brides is feeling more inclined to ditch their maiden name completely or have it hyphenated.

Facebook data recently revealed that 65% of women in their 20's and 30's changed their name after getting married.

Live Science gives an in-depth look at other recent studies on this subject- to learn more visit: http://www.livescience.com/16813-women-husband.html
