It was supposed to be their big night, but prom turned into a big headache for teens from a local high school. Police showed up to crack down on an unauthorized limo service.

24/7 Limousine service was busy during prom season, busy 24/7. The problem according to police is that their limos were rolling with expired Michigan licenses. They expired March 1st. Not only did the limos have expired state licenses with M-DOT, but they also had no insurance policies. Troy police arrived at Petruzzello's banquet facility. The limos were towed and many prom guests were left stranded.

After the Red Wings' tragic 1997 limo accident on Woodward Avenue, Michigan started requiring commercial limos have an M-DOT license. The party in Troy was the Waterford Kettering High School prom. Who tipped off police? A competing limo company did. In Michigan, an expired limo can be towed, the driver can get a ticket and both the driver and owner can be fined.
