Car hits pedestrian crossing during red light

A pedestrian was hit by a car while he was crossing the street during a red light on Friday night.

Phoenix police say three pedestrians were walking against a signal light at Glendale and 27th Avenues when a car with a green light came through the intersection.

The first two pedestrians had already made it through, but the third, an 18-year-old man, was hit by the car.  

He was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene and police say he wasn't impaired.

According to officers, the driver didn't have a driver's license and his vehicle was impounded.
