Fox 5 takes a look at the preparations for the Super Bowl XLVIII. This is the road to glory.

The game will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. But many of the related events, celebrations, and parties will be held in New York City as well as in the Garden State.

The first official public event of Super Bowl Week -- Media Day, to feature players of both participating teams -- will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, on Tuesday, January 28.

Hotels in New Jersey will host the two teams. The teams will also practice in New Jersey. The NFC team will use the Timex Center while the AFC will use the Atlantic Health Facility at Florham Park.

The NFL Tailgate Party will take place at the Grandstand at the Meadowlands Racetrack leading up to the game on Sunday, February 2.

Meantime, New York City will be home to the Super Bowl Media Center, based at the Sheraton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

The annual NFL Honors awards show also will take place in New York City.

Also, a stretch of Midtown will be transformed into "Super Bowl Boulevard" and will be the scene of interactive activities that allow fans to throw a touchdown, catch a pass, or kick a field goal. The Vince Lombardi Trophy display, nightly concerts, football clinics and competitions, player appearances, NFL-themed exhibits, and more will also take place along Super Bowl Boulevard.

New York will also host the Media Party, Friday Night Party, and more.

You can watch the Super Bowl on Fox 5 on February 2, 2014.

A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée to an NFL executive five months ago, while league executives have insisted they didn't see the violent images until this week. The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."
