On Thursday Andria Stanley was found guilty of attacking her ex-husband in his south Austin home in 2012.
The jury convicted her of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, and burglary.
While testifying in court Wednesday, Jason Witt told jurors that his
ex-wife, 32-year-old Andria Stanley, tried to kill him. He says she
broke into his home in the early morning hours of February 6, 2012, and
hit him in the head with what he believed to be a wooden object.
According to prosecutors, the violent assault was the result of a bitter custody battle.
During the trial, the defense countered that accusation by saying Witt lied and accidentally shot himself while beating her with a gun.
