Meet Ralph (Pictured) he was rescued as a ball of matted fur and burrs a couple of week ago. But he's feeling better now, and he's up for adoption Saturday as part of the Empty the Shelter event at the Arizona Animal Welfare league in Phoenix.
Ralph, along with hundreds of other dogs and cats, will be ready for their new forever home, and it's a great opportunity for you to find a new best friend.

AAWL & SPCA is offering special savings on adoption fees to enable more people to adopt these homeless pets. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help match pets with the right homes.
When: Sat., May 18, 8 AM – 6 PM
Where: Sonia Breslow Adoption Center at the Arizona Animal Welfare League, 25 N. 40th St., Phoenix (just north of Washington Street)
Cost: During the event, adoption fees will be $25 for adult dogs (older than six months), $75 for puppies up to six months, $30 for adult cats six months and older, and $75 for kittens.
All animals will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations, saving adopters even more money when they take home a new furry friend from AAWL & SPCA. In addition, AAWL & SPCA is offering a voucher for a free heartworm test and free heartworm prevention with a discounted $30 wellness exam at the organization's low-cost public PetMD Clinic.
Why: Emptying the shelter on this day will make room for AAWL & SPCA to rescue at least 100 more animals from open-intake shelters where they are at risk of being euthanized. The Valley has the second-highest pet over-population problem in the country. Approximately 90,000 animals enter open-intake shelters in the Valley every year, and about half of them are killed, even though many could be adopted.
