    Three vehicles were involved in a fatal accident Monday in Dearborn on eastbound Michigan Avenue east of the Southfield Freeway. Police said one person was killed and three others were wounded.

Grief counselors were at Inkster High School on Tuesday to help students and staff deal with the unbelievably tragic car crash that claimed the life of 16-year-old Destiny Henderson and injured three others.

"It was painful. Everybody was crying," said student Malik Scott. "It was nothing but silence today."

The crash happened Monday on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. A red Ford Escort carrying four Inkster High students was stopped at traffic light when a SMART bus rammed into the back of the car, launching the Escort into a blue truck in front of it.

Henderson was the driver of the Escort. She was only one week shy of celebrating her 17th birthday.

Two other passengers, Diamond Rucker and Zaria Headen, remain hospitalized, while Taccara Mayes has been treated and released from the hospital, according to the Inkster district superintendent.

As for Henderson, she was being remembered and missed by classmates.

"She was smart, beautiful and she was funny," Scott said.

Police told me the driver of the SMART bus that hit the car was not believed to be under the influence of any alcohol. That driver is currently not in custody or charged with anything, but that could certainly change. There are plenty of questions that need to be answered.
