DETROIT (WJBK) -

A torso was found at an abandoned, burned out home on Anderdon at Charlevoix on Detroit's east side.

Detroit police said around 11:00 a.m. Friday, homicide investigators went to that location while conducting a follow-up investigation on a case.  There they discovered the remains.  Sources familiar with the case said the remains are those of a woman whose body parts were discovered in a bathtub at the Philip C. Sims Senior Apartments last week.

72-year-old Alphonso Jackson has been charged with disinterment of a body and concealing a death in that case, but he has not been charged with her murder.

Neighbors said the house has been burned out for at least a couple of years and like so many other homes in the city should have been torn down long ago.
