CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Firefighters extinguished a two-building fire in the Humboldt Park neighborhood that they had battled Wednesday morning.

The fire was first reported about 5:45 a.m. in a two-story building in the 1700 block of North Kimball Avenue, Fire Media Affairs said.

No injuries were reported.

About 6 a.m. the initial fire was under control, but had spread to the three-story building to the south, officials said.

It was extinguished about 7 a.m.

The CTA's No. 82 buses, which run along Kimball Avenue, were rerouted because of the fire.
