Man charged following three armed robberies

Posted: Updated:

Police have charged a homeless man after they say he robbed two discotecas and a western wear store.

Police say all three incidents were captured on surveillance video.

Video captured on Jan. 1, from Discoteca located on Riverside shows a man, police identified as 22-year-old Michael Woods, enter the business with a bandana over his face, point the gun at the clerk and demand money. It also shows Woods fleeing from the scene on a bicycle, dropping a trail of cash from his pockets.

On Jan. 23, police say Woods entered Mi Pueblito Discoteca located on Ohlen Rd. They say he pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cash from the register. Woods attempted to jump over the counter but lost his balance and landed on the floor. Two store employees struggled with Woods to try and take control of his gun. However Woods gained control and took the cash from the register and fled the store.

On Feb. 8, Woods robbed Gomez Western Wear at gunpoint. He took the cash from the register as well as two employee's wallets before fleeing the scene.

Police found discarded clothing at each scene believed to be worn by Woods during the robberies. Police also found Woods' finger prints on a cash drawer at one of the scenes.

Woods is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.
