Thursday, Parrotheads from all over were already gathering at the new Austin 360 Amphitheater at the Circuit of the Americas track to hear Jimmy Buffett in concert. But it wasn't exactly the kind of weather you'd expect in "Margarita-ville" and because of safety reasons the concert was postponed until Friday night.
On Friday, the winds blew once again but they weren't near as miserably cold like they were on Thursday!
Ali Putnam with Circuit of the Americas says the decision to postpone the concert 24 hours was between them, Jimmy Buffett and Jackson Browne.
She says safety is always their main priority but that really wasn't their concern last night. It was just miserably cold.
"It wasn't ideal for an outdoor Jimmy Buffet concert. Definitely weren't feeling like margaritas and palm trees like everybody expects," Putnam said.
Meanwhile, Buffett fans who call themselves Parrotheads have been camping out at COTA since Wednesday.
They didn't seem too upset!
"We came all the way from New York to see our sister. Its 80 degrees in New York, it's freezing in Texas," said one Jimmy Buffett fan.
Today's not bad, yesterday was crazy though!"
Felicity Dodson is from Galveston. She also calls herself Lola the pirate lady.
She wasn't really disappointed when the concert was postponed.
"You know frankly, it was so cold, I was a little bit relieved…and you know what we got a 24 hour tailgate so I'm good with that! It was not bad," she said.
Matt Lawler and Dustin Donnell live in Austin. So like everyone else, they were taken aback by how cold it got in May.
"I was happy. I mean, the show was gonna be pretty rough with the microphone in the wind and the cold weather would be pretty tough so being able to come today was great but the folks that couldn't come today I think were a little upset."
