Austin Police looking for gas station robber

Posted: Updated:

Austin Police are looking for a man they say robbed two gas stations at gunpoint last weekend.

Investigators believe 27-year-old Julian Jesse Alvarado Jr. is responsible for robbing a Shell gas station on April 26 and a Valero gas station on April 28.

According to police, Alvarado walked into the Shell gas station in the 2700 block of East 7th around 7:00 PM. He allegedly tried to buy an item and handed money to the clerk. When the clerk opened the register, investigators said he pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Police say Alvarado pulled a similar robbery at the Valero in the 2000 block of East State Highway 71. The robbery took place just after 10:00 PM. In both robberies, investigators say Alvarado fled the scene on foot with an unspecified amount of money.

Alvarado is 5'8" with a medium build. He had a short, manicured bead at the time of the robbery and short brown hair. He has a tattoo behind his right ear and a tattoo of a cross on his left inside forearm.
