APD asking for help solving murder

Austin Police are asking for the public's help finding the person who killed a man in his East Austin home.

On April 13, police were called to the 5300 block of Summer Drive just before 4:00 PM. Officers found Jose Humberto, 51, dead inside his home. Detectives determined that the death looked suspicious.

Upon arrival, patrol officers located Mr. Humberto deceased inside of the residence. APD Homicides detectives were called to scene. At the conclusion of the preliminary investigation detectives believed the death to be suspicious.

After an autopsy was performed the next day, his death was ruled a homicide.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact police. You may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest or charges being filed.
