Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Buda.
It happened at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of FM 2770. Police shut down the road but it has since reopened.
Police say the driver of SUV travel the wrong way down FM 2770 and hit shuttle bus carrying residents of Creekside Villas, a senior living facility located about a mile from crash site.
They were doing a daily outing, taking residents who no longer drive to run errands.
The driver of the SUV, a 68-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger on the shuttle, a 74-year-old woman died while being transported to the hospital.
Six victims ranging from 70 to 85 years of age were injured. Two were transported to UMC Brackenridge and four others were transported to Seton Medical Center Hays. All are listed in stable condition.
At this time police don't know why driver went on wrong side of road.
Creekside Villas are not commenting at this time.
Police say they plan to shut down the roadway again tomorrow to continue their investigation. The time in which that will occur is unknown.
