Lung cancer kills more people than any other cancer in the US.
That's why some Austinites are working hard to change that by raising awareness.
Hundreds of people climbed stairs Saturday morning for that good cause.
672 steps to be exact.
The American Lung Association held their "Fight For Air Stair Climb" event.
Activists took the challenge of climbing all 31 stories of the Frost Bank Tower.
For those who made it to the top, there was live music and activities for the kids on the 31st floor.
"We do have people who have smoked in the past. I'm sure they can't smoke before they do this or after because it is exhausting on your legs," says Callie Thompson, Miss Austin 2012.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States.
