A woman is held a knife-point and narrowly escapes being kidnapped by two men. Tuesday, one of her attackers is in jail and police are looking for his accomplice.
Police have arrested and charged 48-year-old Vicker Jenkins with attempted aggravated kidnapping. The victim, who we'll call Amber says Jenkins approached her vehicle on Saturday night at 9 p.m. as she was loading groceries into her trunk.
She says he grabbed her cart and then slammed her trunk shut. She attempted to get inside of her car when she says Jenkins pulled a knife on her and told her to get into the backseat.
She tried to run away, but a second man was blocking her path. She says Jenkins then grabbed her by the shoulders and attempted to shove her into the car. She screamed and fought until she was able to run to a nearby bus stop for help.
"I was really scared of the knife and I thought about it. I had two choices. If I get in the car that knife will still stab me or kill me or whatever. If I try and run. He can still stab me with it but I have a better chance of surviving," Amber said.
There is a suspect still at large. The detective handling the case says he has received some excellent leads and is confident there will be an arrest soon.
