Ramsey: Shutting Down Boston Was 'Right Thing To Do'

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey is praising the Boston Police Department.

On "Fox News Sunday," Ramsey said that while the decision to shut down Boston during the manhunt was a bold move, it was the right move.

"I think it was absolutely the right thing for them to do," the police commissioner told Fox's Chris Wallace. "You have to remember the one brother when he was killed, he had some kind of device on his body. You don't know if the second person had a device on their body, as well. He could easily get on a subway car, for an example, suicide bomber – very, very dangerous to the public at large. I think they did absolutely the right thing."

Commissioner Ramsey also said that surveillance cameras and social media will be crucial in the investigation because they can help piece together the sequence of events.
