Police are searching for a man who may be heading to Oklahoma after taking his two young children from their mother.

Cody Burkett, 21, removed his two sons, ages 4 and 8 months, from a home at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday without the mother's permission, according to an alert from Area Central detectives, who didn't release the address of the home.

Burkett may be returning to where the family is originally from in Ardmore, Okla., the alert said.

Burkett is described as white with a fair complexion, 6 feet, weighing 200 pounds with blonde and brown hair and blue eyes, the alert said. He has tattoos on the right side of his neck and his right forearm.

Burkett's four-year-old son, Memphis, is described as white with a fair complexion, 42 inches tall, 40 pounds with blonde and brown hair and blue eyes, the alert said.

Burkett's eight-month-old son, Elijah, is described as white with a fair complexion, 23 inches tall, 23 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, the alert said.

Burkett was last seen driving a dark red or burgundy 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck with tinted windows, a silver Chevy trademark logo on the rear window and Oklahoma license plates, the alert said.
