PHOENIX -

A donation of $5 million was made Wednesday to help break the cycle of homelessness in the valley.

The massive grant was given to UMOM New Day Centers during a ceremony near Van Buren and 32nd Streets.

The campus will be named in honor of Bob and Renee Parsons, founders of GoDaddy.com.

Mayor Stanton was on hand during the dedication.

Renee Parsons says she and her husband asked the CEO of UMOM what could the organization do with $5 million.

"When we asked her what would $5 million do, she was organized, she knew what she wanted to do, she had a list of things she wanted to accomplish, so they're ready to hit the ground running when they receive the funds," said Parsons.

Nearly half of the families that UMOM helps are dealing with homelessness for the first time.
